EURO is the best: N/A
UEFA EURO 2020 will be Finland's first appearance in a major tournament.
Teemu Pukki (87 caps, 27 goals)
Pukki is the player that Finnish fans expect to deliver when goals are needed; so often he can answer the call. The Norwich City striker, now in his 30s, has gone beyond a striker and is now a staple gear in his country's offensive play.
Lukas Hradecky (64 times)
Hradecky has been Finland's first choice goalkeeper for several years. The Bayer Leverkusen No1 is not only always reliable, but can also produce real game-changing savings. Blessed with lightning-quick reactions and foot weight, Hradecky adds no lack of skill, experience and authority to Finland's defensive setup.
Unforgettable EURO goals
Striker Jasse Tuominen scored his first and only ever international goal against Liechtenstein in Finland's decisive EURO qualifiers in November 2019'. It was not a goal that will live on in memory for its quality, but few if any have made it more important to Finnish football. Finland went on to win 3-0.
While the EURO 2020 qualifiers stand out from all other moments in importance, some fans will fondly remember that on June 5, 2007, Finland' interrupted their EURO qualifier against Belgium' in Helsinki'. The bird sat on the crossbar for several minutes, resulting in a 2-0 win to the hosts and a new 'Eagle owls' inspired the nickname.
